The Township has an array of Community Services available to residents and non-residents including: Meeting Hall facility rental, fishing and hunting licenses, voter registration, passports, temporary handicap placards, Veterans Services with a dedicated Veterans Services Officer, and Employment Support Services. All of these services are available at no cost, with the exception of the Meeting Hall facility rental which is available for a small fee.

Job seekers will find the resources and support they need to conduct a successful job search. From writing resumes and cover letters, to preparing for interviews and updating your LinkedIn profile, we can provide you with the assistance you need to take the next step in your career. Employment support is available by appointment only and open to both residents and non-residents.
The meeting hall room at Elk Grove Township is the prefect place if you’re looking for space to host company meetings, get togethers, or community groups. The possibilities are endless. Rentals are on a first come, first served basis, and township events get first picks. While rentals during regular business hours are free of charge, rentals after hours or on weekends are $30 per hour. Applications must be filled out ahead of time and all terms must be agreed upon by both parties.
Elk Grove Township can issue Temporary Handicap Parking Placards to qualified individuals who submit an application signed by their physician stating the nature and duration of the applicant’s disability. Applications are available at the Township office or by downloading the form below. Placards are issued immediately upon receipt of a properly completed application (Part 1 must be completed by the applicant and Part 2 completed by the physician.) Placards can be issued for up to six (6) months at a time.
Applicants requesting a Permanent Handicap Parking Placard must submit a completed “Persons with Disabilities Certification for Parking Placard” form. Part 1 is to be completed by the applicant. Part 2 is to be completed by the physician stating the nature of the disability and the fact that it is permanent. The application is then mailed to State of Illinois Secretary at State 501 S. 2nd Street Springfield, IL 62756.
A Veteran Service Officer (VSO) is a fellow veteran who is an expert on federal, state, and local veteran resources. The Township’s Veterans Services Officer has over 10 years of experience and is trained and accredited by the US Department of Veterans Affairs to provide free assistance to veterans and their dependents and survivors. Services include not only applying for federal and state benefits but their core value is to connect with Cook County veterans to facilitate federal, state, county and locally offered resources, assist veterans, dependents, and survivors with benefits regarding health, education, retirement, housing assistance and home loans, help veterans find jobs by connecting them with service providers, identify veteran concerns to provide proper resources, and many more. Whether you have a specific question or would simply like help to identify programs and benefits for which you may be eligible, our Veteran Service Officer is here to help. Elk Grove Township invites all outdoors loving men and women to visit our office when they need an Illinois Fishing and/or Hunting License. The Township also supplies salmon, habitat, and trout stamps. Discounts are available to seniors. Fishing licenses are not required for people under 16, the blind, disabled, or active-duty military. Remember to keep the appropriate ID with you – and be sure it’s current.
Illinois Resident Daily Fee: $5.50
Illinois Resident Annual Fee: $15.00
Illinois Resident Senior (65+) fee: $7.75
On staff at Elk Grove Township is an Older Adult Program and Benefits Specialist. This member of our team is available to answer questions and provide assistance dedicated specifically to seniors. Call to schedule an appointment to review the Benefit Access Program, receive assistance with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) applications, apply for the Mobile Dental Clinic, or any of our other Senior Social Services and programs.

Elk Grove Township is an authorized Passport Acceptance Facility. Our trained acceptance agents can assist you with obtaining a U.S. Passport Book and/or U.S. Passport Card. Appointments are available by appointment only Monday through Friday, 10 AM through 3 PM. Please call 847-437-0300 to schedule your appointment or for more information.
The passport office is located at the east entrance of the Township Building. Please look for the entrance with the three flag poles in front. First-time applications and/or minors under the age of 18 who are renewing a passport will need to fill out the DS-11 application (New Application or Minor Applicant).
If you have an adult passport that was issued less than 15 years ago and has been expired for five years or less, you need to fill out the DS-82 application (Renewal Application). Renewal passport applications do not need the assistance of an acceptance agent.
**PLEASE NOTE: Passports for minors are not eligible for renewal using the DS-82 form, you will need to fill out the DS-11**
